AICTE SSPCA: Support to Students for Participating in Competition Abroad
Introduction to AICTE SSPCA
Contents
To enhance the quality of engineering education and foster a culture of research, innovation, and competition among students, a scheme is being introduced. This scheme aims to provide financial assistance to engineering students participating in international scientific events.
Objectives
The scheme’s objective is to offer travel assistance and registration fees to teams of 2 to 10 students, encouraging them to compete internationally and improve their technical education.
Eligibility
– Teams of 2 to 10 students enrolled in technical courses at AICTE-approved institutions are eligible.
– Eligible students include B.E./B.Tech., Integrated M. Tech, and 1st and 2nd-year M.E./M.Tech. students who have received invitations to international scientific events after winning top honors at national-level competitions.
– Each student team can receive financial support once during their course of study, with a maximum support of Rs. 1 lakh per student.
– Financial support covers airfare (not exceeding AC III Class train fare), registration and visa charges, capped at Rs. 1 lakh per candidate.
Procedure to Apply for Assistance in AICTE SSPCA
– Applications should be submitted offline to AICTE New Delhi, with necessary documents including acceptance letters from competition organizers, at least two months before the event. Take the address of office from https://www.aicte-india.org/

- a copy of the detailed competitive data from abroad.
- A copy of the necessary documents that confirms the national competition.
– Approval is not automatic, and only one application per competition will be considered, with priority given to teams that excelled in national events.
Submission of the Claim
– After the international event, applicants must submit expenditure details, a technical report, and utilization certificates within one month.
– They must also provide details of any assistance received from organizers or other agencies, along with documentation of funds received from the institution and other sources.
Travel Claim
– Participants should travel by economy class, with expenses reimbursed up to the cheapest available airfare (not exceeding Air India fare). Train fare from the institution to the nearest airport is also covered.
Procedure for Approval of the Proposal
– Proposals will be evaluated by subject experts, and final decisions will be made by AICTE based on their recommendations.
Procedure for Release of Grant in AICTE SSPCA
– Upon submission of relevant documents after the competition, the entire grant (up to Rs. 1 lakh per student) will be disbursed in one installment.
